Acaiá Cave is an incredible coastal cenote with fluorescent water in shades of green and blue. Sunlight enters through a crack in the rocky ceiling, magically illuminating the water—a very rare natural phenomenon, the only one of its kind in the Americas. Acaiá Cave with Green Lagoon and Blue Lagoon. Fluorescent phenomenon: sunlight creates a turquoise-green mist with bright, "diamond-like" points. Impressive dimensions: approximately 30m wide, approximately 1m high, approximately 8m deep. Unique geological formation: an underwater rock pool with a ceiling resembling a large bottle. Archaeological site: human traces dating back 250 to 3,000 years, shell mounds, and local history.
